Privacy Policy
We don't sell your data, we don't run ad trackers, and you can read the entire site without giving us anything at all. Below is exactly what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to take it back.

Techiarena (techiarena.com) is published by Ali, registered in New York, USA. We're an independent newsroom covering crypto, blockchain, markets, and the founders building in Web3. When this policy says "we," that's us. When it says "you," that's anyone reading the site, subscribing to the newsletter, or writing to us.
We're a small editorial team. A person wrote this page, not a policy generator, and we tried to make it readable.
There are three buckets. Anything not in one of these three is not collected.
1. What you give us when you contact or subscribe
Your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter — that's the only field we ask for. If you use the contact form, we get your name, email, company (optional), the reason you picked, your subject line and your message. If you submit a story, a founder profile or an event, we get whatever you put in the submission. If you pitch to write for us or apply for a role, we get your CV, samples and links.
2. What your browser tells us automatically
IP address, browser and device type, referring URL, the pages you visit and the timestamp. Standard server-log data — every web server collects this just to function.
3. Newsletter engagement
Whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, if your email client allows it. That's how we know which stories are worth writing more of.
There is no fourth bucket. No account, no login, no paywall, no comments, no payments, no wallet connection. We don't use session replay, heatmaps, fingerprinting or ad pixels, and we don't buy data about you from anyone.
Different data, different reason. We don't pool it into a marketing profile.
Your email — to send you the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else.
Your message — to reply to you, and to follow up a tip or a pitch.
Submissions — to decide whether to publish, verify it, and contact you about it.
Server logs — to fix crashes, rate-limit bots and scrapers, and keep the site secure.
Analytics — to see which stories get read, in aggregate. We look at articles, not readers.
We use to understand which articles get read, where readers come from, and whether the site is fast enough. [Configured with IP anonymisation enabled.] We never share it with advertising networks, because we don't use any.
Cookies on this site come down to three things: the ones required for the site to load and stay secure, your light/dark mode preference (stored in your browser, never sent to us), and analytics. Embedded X posts, videos, and charts may set their own cookies when they load.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. [Where the law requires consent for the analytics ones, we ask first, and you can change your answer at [COOKIE SETTINGS LINK].]
We don't sell your data. Full stop. The only third parties that touch it are vendors we hire to run the site:
[HOSTING PROVIDER] — hosting and CDN. Sees your IP and the pages you request.
[EMAIL PROVIDER] — sends the newsletter. Sees your email address and what we send you.
[ANALYTICS PROVIDER] — traffic measurement.
[FORM / SPAM PROVIDER] — handles contact form submissions and filters spam.
We'll also disclose data if a court order forces us to. If that happens we'll tell you unless the order itself prohibits it — and if the request is aimed at identifying a source, we'll fight it as far as the law allows.
If you're sending us something sensitive, read this first.
Our contact form and email are convenient, not secure. They pass through the vendors above, and your employer, your network admin and your own device may keep records we can't see or control.
Say up front if you need confidentiality — in your first message, before you send anything sensitive, and wait for us to agree. Don't assume it.
[For sensitive material, reach us on SIGNAL / PROTONMAIL from a device and network that aren't your employer's. — Delete this line if you haven't set up a secure channel. Don't promise one you don't have.]
Where we agree to protect your identity, we mean it. We minimise what we record about you and we don't hand sources over voluntarily.
Our journalism contains information about real people — founders, executives, investors, regulators. We gather it from interviews, public statements, company registers, filings and block explorers, and publish it in the public interest.
Data protection law in most countries carves out journalism (Article 85 of the UK and EU GDPR, and equivalents elsewhere), so we may decline a request to delete or alter something that's part of a published story. We look at every request properly and explain our reasoning.
If we got a fact wrong, that's a different conversation and a faster one. Email contact@techiarena.com and we'll correct it under our Editorial Policy.
We're a publication — not an exchange, wallet, broker or adviser. Nothing here is financial advice.
We will never ask you for a seed phrase, private key, wallet password, wallet connection or signature, and we will never ask you to send funds, pay a "gas fee" or "unlock" anything. Any DM, site, airdrop, giveaway or job offer claiming to be Techiarena and asking for those is a scam, however good the branding looks.
Our only official channels are this site, contact@techiarena.com, x.com/techiarena and t.me/techiarena. Report impersonators to us so we can warn other readers.
The site doesn't require a wallet and we don't collect wallet addresses. If that ever changes we'll update this page before the feature goes live.
If you're in the EU, UK, California, or anywhere else with a modern privacy law, you have the right to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, object to how we're using it, get a copy in a portable format, and complain to your regulator.
How to use them: email contact@techiarena.com. That's the whole process — no form, no account, no ticket number. We reply within 30 days (45 in California). We may need to check you are who you say you are first.
Unsubscribing takes one click — the link is at the bottom of every newsletter. You don't need to email us for that.
Two honest limits: we may decline in part where the information is part of our journalism (see 07), and we can't delete something if another person's safety or a source's identity depends on it. We'll tell you which one applies and why.
We don't sell or share personal information as California defines those terms, so there's no "Do Not Sell" link to click — there's nothing to opt out of.
Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe, then a minimal suppression record so we never email you again by accident.
Contact messages — 24 months after the matter closes.
Submissions — kept as part of the editorial record. Published work stays in the archive.
Job and contributor applications — 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
Analytics — 14 months, then aggregated.
Server logs — 90 days.
HTTPS across the whole site. Access limited to the people who need it. Multi-factor authentication on our own accounts. Mainstream, well-audited providers for hosting and email, and regular dependency updates.
We're a small team and we're not going to pretend we're SOC 2 certified. But we don't roll our own infrastructure, we keep the attack surface small by not collecting much, and if a breach ever puts you at real risk we'll tell you and the regulator rather than sit on it.
Techiarena is written for adults thinking about markets and technology. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If you're a parent and you think we've got your child's data, email contact@techiarena.com and we'll delete it.
If we change anything material — a new analytics vendor, a new retention window, a new category of data — we'll put a notice on the site and email newsletter subscribers before it takes effect. Typo fixes and rewording don't trigger that, but the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
For privacy questions, data requests, corrections, or reporting someone impersonating us: contact@techiarena.com. A real person reads that inbox, and we aim to reply within 2 business days.
